Xbox Live Marketplace


The Video Marketplace has finally landed here in Europe with a selection of downloads in both standard & high definition formats. Prices for the titles vary between 250 MSP and 540 MSP and download file sizes are set to stretch those broadband connections to their limits with HD movies weighing in at up to 7GB. Well, that's useful to know.

SO, how long is 7 gigs gonna take to d/load (yeh yeh I know depends on connection)

On my crappy 1mb BT connection that would be an overnight job, probably around 7-8 hours based on usual demo download times.

So a meg connection maybe I will get it in 3 hours. Well that could be just about workable. IMO if it's gonna be an overnight job then that as sure as hell will kill the thing off. No-one wants to leave their box on overnight - but then again, the house would be nice and warm in the morning!

Woudn't the overnight content background download work on movie downloads. Save the overheating issues!

More than likely yeh. So they could shut a whole nuclear powerstation down instead of just half of one
