Upcoming pinball sim 'Pinball FX' from Zen Studios is set to raise the bar with some video chat enabled multiplayer flipping action. Alongside the opportunity to taunt your opponents in real time for their lack of tilt action prowess comes the ability to flail your arms around wildly and use the Xbox Live Camera to control your individual flippers. This should make interesting viewing on the video chat screen then if nothing else! Pinball FX is due later this year, no firm release date available as yet though.

The game’s key features are:

* Live chat via the Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera.
* Three vibrant, 3-dimensional tables provide dozens of hours of play.
* State-of-the-art physics model that surpasses the best titles in the genre.
* Tables start out simple, but new challenges open up as a player’s skill advances.
* Flipper arms can be controlled with hand/arm motions via the Xbox 360 Live Vision camera.
* Downloadable tables on Xbox Live Marketplace.
* Real-time head-to-head mode for online multiplayer competition.
* Amazing realism and polished presentation.

Unreal Tournaments - Console Mods? PDF Print E-mail

Epic Games vice president Mark Rein has offered an interesting comment just the other day concerning Unreal Tournament 3 and modifications, game reworks and other labours of coding love by third party developers.

In a recent interview with Team Xbox, Rein revealed that third-party UT modifications are not only now possible on console, but that Epic is going to take some mods formerly only available on PC versions of Unreal Tournament and "bring them over to Playstation 3" where their own developers can polish them up!

The plan won't be unique to PS3 either, Rein then said about Xbox 360 in connection with UT mods that "we'll be able to do something like that there as well,  mods are the lifeblood of this game, and part of the reason we delayed announcing the 360 version is because UT without mods is half a UT. "

"The big thing we're excited about bringing to console are mods", he revealed. Could this be a real body blow for PC gaming where 'mods' have been the life blood of the gaming scene for many years? With console game versions now being able to exploit mods and the ready download possibilities of Xbox Live Marketplace surely more and more developers will look to exploit the talents of it's very own gaming users for additional profits.
