UPDATE! Fresh screenshot reveals brand new 'Dune Buggy' vehicle to come in the DLC, latest rumours slate possible release as early as April 28th! Check it out by clicking the 'read more' linky! A forum post from a staff member over here at the Crackdown boards seems to suggest that the long awaited downloadable content for Crackdown may be with us in the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping this turns out to be true as Crackdown is just about to slip off the gaming radar as far as most people are concerned and is now being treated solely as a ticket to Halo 3 in May. Crackdown deserves more than this and I pray that Realtime Worlds get their act in gear and release the long overdue new content as I'd rather be playing Crackdown than bunny hopping around in the Halo 3 Beta myself, plus they still owe me 100 achievement points. More news as, when, or if indeed we get any.....
The post in question reads:- hey guys - i understand your desire to get some DLC. the answer is still soon. sooner rather than later. the reason i have to be vague is that PR guys don't want me to announce a date that it will be available - they want to do that. they also want to announce the content at teh same time. the reason why is if i announce it here right now (which I would love to do) is that PRs ability to get the news out to the broadest announce (which I also want to do) will be diminished b/c it will no longer be new news. that said all I can tell you is expect to have something within the next few weeks, maybe sooner. there's that 'soon' word again.

Quote(3) DLC - Really?25-04-2007 07:37:38 Downloadable content? For Crackdown? You're a madman! This is blasphemy, this is treason! Quote(4) Rumour....25-04-2007 07:38:40 This is RUMOUR! Quote(5) Untitled25-04-2007 14:35:39 It's not rumor, the achievement point rules from Microsoft clearly state that games released with less than 1000 achievement points must release free downloadable content containing the remaining number of achievement points. Unfortunately that rule was created after the release of games like Condemned and BFMEII, both of which I believe have fewer than 1000 achievement points. Quote(6) Extra content doesn't make it not suck.25-04-2007 16:03:02 Looks like I'll never know the joy of those 100 extra points. I traded this game in a week after buying it. It was the interactive entertainment equivalent of a urinary tract infection. Most overhyped 360 game ever.
Besides, companies should finish the games before they release them. I think it's shameful that there's a policy that allows half-assed behavior like this. i greatly enjoyed most of crackporn, but i certainly agree with this bit, applied to all fraggin games Quote(8) Untitled25-04-2007 17:36:52 We all know the real reason we bought Crackdown. Halo 3. That is the only reason I still have my copy. But as soon as the beta is over, bye-bye. Quote(9) Re:25-04-2007 19:03:02 We all know the real reason we bought Crackdown. Halo 3. Can't wait for the dlc.Quote(10) Re: Re:26-04-2007 12:37:50 Well i bought Crackdown for Crackdown. not for the Halo 3 beta, that would have been foolish. Can't wait for the dlc. — Guest User Ditto. I'd rather drive nails through my man meat than play the Halo 3 Beta. Do your own testing. |
