To coincide with the airing of the first US TV commercial a playable demo for the much awaited Bioshock is now on Xbox Live Marketplace for download. The retail release is on August 24th when you'll be able to descend 'somewhere under the sea' and visit the world of Rapture.
Its pretty good for half a game, the water is very pretty and it all runs nice and smoothly.. In what way this is some kind of leap forward in gaming i have no idea though.. standard controls for standard jobs.

Looks ok, sounds ok, basically just shoot everything that jumps up at you and endlessly 'search' things when the 'A' prompt pops up. Like the man says is this really some giant leap for gaming-kind?
After reading a recent preview article, I was actually somewhat interested in Bioshock. Thankfully they put a demo out so early, though, because I swear this game could've come out 5 years ago and still not have impressed anyone.
