Red ring of deathOMG! Microsoft does it again! You bunch of dumb **** I was happily pwning noobs in Halo 3 this morning when I had to take an urgent phone call. When I got back my console was downloading the new Fall update. After 3 minutes the console re-booted and when it started I got the Red Ring of Death! WTF?! Microsoft you've broked my Xbox 360! This is the fourth one I've had die in as many months!

First my old premium died when I put Bioshock in the disc tray. A little sister broked my Xbox! Then when I got that back on 26th September my replacement box red-ringed playing Halo 3! Halo 3 broked my Xbox! After waiting for 2 days I finally got my third Xbox 360 only to watch it curl up and die as soon as I loaded Call of Duty 4! Infinity Ward you bunch of retards! Captain Price, you broked my Xbox 360! Now here I was happily playing Halo 3 one minute then, boom - headshot, my fourth Xbox 360 dies as I leave it alone for 5 minutes while downloading the Fall update. Dashboard Update! You broked my Xbox! I can't believe this. Four consoles in four months. I'm in the process now of contacting my lawyers to start a class action against everyone who makes stuff that breaks. I don't care that there are millions of consoles out there and that statistically some of them will unfortunately curl up and die at the most inconvenient moment just so we can blame the game/the update/the weather/your mom. It is all Microsofts fault and I demand millions of dollars in compensation for losing hours of valuable n00b pwning time on Valhalla. Whatever you do folks, don't install the new update, it will break your Xbox 360. You have been warned.

Then again on the other hand it may just add some nice new features and be fine. But either way prepare yourself to read dozens of 'ZOMG the Update broked my Xbox' forum posts today as Microsoft rolls out the latest of the dashboard updates for the Xbox 360.

When you login to Xbox Live you will be prompted to download the console update, accept this and download the 7MB file which will automatically install and re-boot your console. If your console doesn't instantly die a horrible red ring death then that's all there is to it. You now have the latest update and a few new features to play with.

DASHBOARD UPDATE - LATEST NEWS:

We'll keep you posted of any 'real' problems encountered with the update process here:-

LIVE ID Issue Reported:
The new update allows you to change the email account (Live ID) associated with your Xbox Live Gamertag, which is an incredibly welcome feature, and one that has been requested since the consoles launch. Right now, however, if you go and change that email account you will in fact lose all of your forum posts, community user level, and icons earned at the Xbox.com forum. All posts made by your account will appear as ‘anonymous’. The team at Microsoft are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but for now though, if you value your CUL, Icons, and Forum posts, do not change your Live ID. The fix should be here in a few days.

Any more stories of woe will appear here as the day goes on.....
